You just purchased a beautiful knife and it came with a nylon pouch or sheath. A nylon sheath is a good temporary case for a knife, but long term? Never. Nylon allows dirt, dust and water to settle around your knife, which over time can hurt the knife. More importantly these sheaths will tear along the seams or in corners. But these sheaths or cases simply look bad.
Regardless if you spent 20 Euros or 200 Euros, you need a proper knife sheath. One that protects the knife and looks amasing attached to your belt.
There are as many styles as there are knives. Pocket or folding knives do well with a wet-molded sheath. A hunting knife can also use a wet-molded leather sheath, depending upon the blade, hilt and handle shapes. Built in such a manner that the blade is protected to remain sharp and presents the knife in a stunning manner.
If the knife case needs a wet-mold, I will require the knife for about two-three days in order to form the leather around the knife.
